About Cleats Report

Cleats Report is an independent, research-based publication about cleats for football, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse and ice. We help players, parents and coaches choose the right pair by sport, playing surface, position and budget.

What we cover

Our buying guides, reviews and answers cover the main brands in each sport, plus practical topics such as sizing, studs and playing surfaces. You can browse by sport from the menu at the top of every page.

How we work

We compare manufacturer specifications with what buyers report about fit, comfort, durability and traction.

We do not claim hands-on testing of a product unless a review says so explicitly.

You can read the details in How We Research Cleats and in our Editorial Policy.

Our founder

Cleats Report was founded by Tom Reeves, who has played football regularly since 2016 and tests some of the cleats he writes about himself. When a review is based on hands-on testing, it says so explicitly; all other articles rely on the research described above.
